Limera1n has been now released by Geohot and you could use it to jailbreak iPod Touch 3G 4.1 iOS
firmware. We have already written many guide for jailbreaking your idevice and here is another one. Follow the steps given below to jailbreak iPod Touch 3G 4.1 iOS using Limera1n.
1. Download Limera1n from here.
2. Connect your iPod Touch with the PC.
3. Launch Limera1n and click on †make it ra1n †button.
4. Now you’ll have to enter recovery mode.
5. Press and hold the home and power button together.
6. Release the power button when asked.
7. Now wait till your phone enters recovery mode.
8. Now you could see the Limera1n app on your screen.
9. Launch the app and install Cydia.
That’s it! You have done it!

I have an two iPod touch 3G, and both are 4.1 firmware, and one of them just wont jailbreak. No matter how many times I try with both limera1n, and greenpois0n, it just wont jailbreak. Can anybody help??? Ive tried everything I know of…

When I attempted this with my Ipod touch 3g 4.1, all it did was nothing. It forced me to restore my ipod and wouldn’t allow me to do anything else.
Is there another method to jailbreaking 4.1?
The mentioned process worked and the message for success jailbreak appeared for my ipod touch 3g running 4.1 ios, however the limera1n icon does not appear on the springboard..
Tried to jailbreak several times.. even restarted the ipod several times.. nothing happened.. the limera1n icon doesn’t appear..

Just worked for my iPOD 3G 4.1! The trick is getting to DFC mode. You have to hold down power and home, and then release ONLY the power button and continue to hold down the home button. When you do this, you will successfully enter into DFC mode and LimeRa1n will download to your device and Jailbreak it.
