Limera1n has been now released by Geohot and you could use it to
jailbreak iPhone 4 4.1 iOS firmware using it. We have just tested it and are sharing the iPhone 4 4.1 iOS jailbreak instructions with you. Follow the steps given below to jailbreak iPhone 4 4.1 iOS using Limera1n.
1. Download Limera1n from here.
2. Connect your iPhone 4 with the PC.
3. Launch Limera1n and click on ” make it ra1n ” button.
4. Now you’ll have to enter recovery mode.
5. Press and hold the home and power button together.
6. Release the power button when asked.
7. Now wait till your phone enters recovery mode.
8. Now you could see the Limera1n app on your iPhone screen.
9. Launch the app and install Cydia to jailbreak iPhone 4 4.1 iOS.
That’s it! Now you’ll have a completely jailbroken iPhone 4.

I just recently got my iphone 4, about a week ago and i was eagerly waiting on a jailbreak. I am happy to say that this jailbreak legitimately worked on my iphone running ios 4.1. I jailbroke it on my windows 7 following the exact instructions listed above!

Worked great for me, but I had to try it twice. The first attempt said waiting for device but nothing ever happened. The second time it went through the steps very fast and everything is installed as it should be, except my limera1n icon is just a gray square. It still allowed me to install cydia.
Correction the icon fixed after installing cydia.
just keep trying untill it works guys had same problem now its ok. had to do it 5 times though and keep home button pressed until its finished until u see green limerain logo
then go to search on yur iphone and type in limerain and install cydia

So now, how do you thether with the phone.
I use PDA Net to teather – installed from Cydia. The app is free and has a free trial period. After that it is a one-time fee of $30.00. There may be other apps, but this one works great for me!
well my iphone4 with firmware 4.0 crapped itself today, ended up doing a recovery mode as it just wouldnt boot up and kept showing the apple logo
had to goto 4.1
to my surprise it was easily jb’d :D

every time i reach step 7 it says u have jail broken your phone successfully and then reboots without having the limera1n LOGO on the screen. and after there is no Limera1n icon on the home screen.
i tried to do it 10 times so far and still the same. although i have done it to another 2 iphone4 4.1 just yesterday and it worked just perfect from the first time!!
please any advice

i have done a restore to manufacturer settings and then i have closed the itunes. and press {ALT+CTRL+DEL} then (Task Manager) then (Processes) and i have ended the process for all itunes services. (u might c IPOD services). then i tried limera1n once again and worked very smooth. i hope it will work for u as well ;-)

Should I risk it and do it or not I just got a new iPhone 4 with 4.1 and I’m nervous
