Member of Xda-developer, Sogarth has come up with a trick to run Ubuntu on Motorola Atrix 4G. In the forum thread he has posted how to run Open Source OS, Ubuntu on Atrix 4G. Sogarth has stated that it’s not perfect but closes enough for other to start having a play around with it. He also warns that while trying to run full Ubuntu on Atrix 4G, there is a real chance that the device may either soft-brick or get into an infinite reboot loop.

However, the member is planning to write a script that will automate most of steps that are required to run Ubuntu.
To install Ubuntu on Atrix 4G, you need the following things:-
- A rooted Motorola Atrix (Guide : How to Root Motorola Atrix 4G)
- Some Kind of terminal access, If you choose to use LXTerminal on the webtop
- Some form of sudo access as well.
