HTC authorities have announced that the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z has now got an update in the European region. They confirmed the rolling out of this update through twitter. A little later after tweeting this, they also mentioned that Gingerbread is not a part of this update.

Go to Settings > About > Software to check for the update. Remember that the update might not be available in some other regions currently.
