IMEI number is used for the identification of a particular mobile phone. It is unique for every phone. Like wise, the iPad also have an IMEI number. It is different for different iPads. The IMEI number might be useful for various uses in the future. So it is good to have it with you because it could be helpful if you have lost your iPad or if somebody has stolen it.
