iTunes 9.2.1 Released and Download Available

The newer version iTunes, 9.2.1 for both Windows and Mac OS X have been released by Apple. It comes up with some bug fixes and improved stability of iTunes. The improvements in the iTunes 9.2.1 update are the folllowing.

• Addresses minor issues with dragging and dropping items
• Addresses a performance issue when first syncing to some devices with iTunes 9.2
• Addresses an issue upgrading to iOS 4 on an iPhone or iPod touch with encrypted back-ups
• Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance

iTunes Accounts hacked – Be Careful!

Yesterday it has been reported that many app store users’s accounts are being hacked by someone and is used to buy apps from the store using their iTunes account and money. The ‘ iTunes accounts hacked ‘ problem is turning out to produce just problems for the users along with many suspects.

Can’t tell there are ‘ many ‘ suspects at the moment as everyone tends to turn their attention to a Vietnamese app developer named ‘ Thuat Nguyen ‘. Out of the top 50 apps in the Books category in the app store, 40 are the ones created by this man. But it could happen if he is so skilled to produce such popular apps. But the suspicious thing is that most of his apps have very poor user ratings or no ratings at all! So there is a chance that the developer himself or with external help have hacked the iTunes accounts.

The hacking of the iTunes accounts is turning out to be a big problem and so it is better to take precautions if you have an iTunes account. Preventing is better than curing. So check your purchases history, change your iTunes account password now and remove your payment details and stop payments to be done using your iTunes account.

Apple released the iTunes 9.2 for the public to download yesterday. A few days back, along with the announcement of the iOS 4 and the iPhone 4, the iTunes 9.2 was also announced and it was available for the developers to download. Here are the features of iTunes 9.2 taken from apple’s site.

• Sync and read books with iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4 and iBooks 1.1

• Faster back-ups while syncing an iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

• Album artwork improvements make artwork appear more quickly when exploring your library

How to Sync Apps to iPad

You could download apps to your computer and then sync them with your iPad or you could directly download them to your iPad. But if you have downloaded an application to your computer and want to sync it to your iPad, then here is how to sync apps to iPad using iTunes. Just do the below steps to get the downloaded apps to your iPad from the PC.

1. Connect iPad to your computer.

2. Start iTunes if it don’t start automatically.

3. Select iPad from the devices list.

NOTE: iTunes automatically syncs the new apps you downloaded to your iPad when synced with your computer. But if you have deleted an app from your iPad, you could proceed.

4. Select the Apps tab.

5. Choose the apps you want to sync to your iPad and click on the Apply button.

Now the apps will be the synced to your iPad and you could start using them. Enjoy!

Sync iPhone With iTunes Wirelessly Using Wi-Fi Sync

The Wi-Fi Sync app developed by Greg Hughes is out and now you could sync your iPhone with iTunes wirelessly using this app. First, when the app was submitted to Apple to get a place in the App store, it was rejected. And now the app is available in Cyida for $9.99. The Wi-Fi Sync app does not support iPad and Windows OS at the moment but works are going on it and will be available to customers soon.

1. First jailbreak your iPhone to get the app from Cydia.

2. Download and install the Wi-Fi Sync app to your Mac OS X system.

3. Install Wi-Fi Sync app on iPhone using Cydia.

4. You could see it in the iTunes connected devices list.

How to Prevent/Disable iPad Sync

iPad always automatically syncs with iTunes when connected with the computer. But some of us may find this feature disturbing or unsuitable. So if you want to prevent iPad sync with iTunes unless you allow it to do so, then here is how to disable iPad sync. Just follow the below steps to prevent or disable iPad sync with iTunes.

1. Launch iTunes.

2. Click on ” iTunes ” option on Mac OS X. Windows users click on ” Edit “.

3. Select ” Preferences “.

4. Select ” Devices ” tab.

5. Check the ” Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically ” checkbox and click on OK.

That’s all! Now iPad will not sync with iTunes unless you enable it again.

In the second week of this month Apple launched iTunes 9. But some bugs had to fixed in iTunes 9. Now Apple have fixed them and iTunes 9.0.1 is ready for download.
